You will also meet some of our recent program participants as they tell their moving stories of transformation. Get to know one of our superstar volunteer dentists and hear how impactful and rewarding the Smiles and Beyond experience is for dental teams. Get in on the action with our interactive silent auction and be the first to take home main level seats to an Arizona Cardinals Game, a trip to France, a Brand-New Tuft and Needle King Size Bed with all the trimmings, and much, much more!

Smiles and Beyond provides the gift of a restored smile to program participants who are survivors of domestic violence or have been formerly incarcerated, through a unique model based on volunteer dentists and labs, philanthropic donations, and a small monthly pledge from each of our participants.

Since our Founding, Smiles has changed the lives of nearly 400 people by building partner relationships with 37 volunteer dentists, 14 volunteer labs, and 14 referring organizations.

“As a survivor of domestic abuse, I have overcome a lot … I have more confidence now that my teeth are being restored. I have started working in sales again!” – Emily

A changed smile can change a life. A changed smile can renew a person’s dignity. A changed smile can restore hope. But as you likely know from personal experience, dentistry can be expensive. Each smile makeover can cost $5,000 to $50,000. Unfortunately, public health services for major dental work are limited, so victims of abuse, poor hygiene, and progressive oral disease can have their path to health and wellness blocked.

“Having a beautiful smile to show off after coming from a horrible, horrible, darkness is like YES, I did it. I’m here.” – Adrianna

That’s where Smiles and Beyond shines. We have a rigorous application process and match qualified participants with a dental team that is best suited for each case. We coordinate care from beginning to end, which can take 6 to 18 months. The new smile is celebrated with professional styling and photography, including a headshot for job searches.

Through our work, we have connected program participants to more than $8 million in donated dental services. Of those participants who were formerly incarcerated, we are proud to say that 0% of our program graduates have reported returning to prison!
