Linda Parker-Smith, Founder & CEO
Linda is the Founder and CEO of Smiles. In 2009 she pledged to “Give them a Smile” and has been doing just that for 11 years. Linda works tirelessly with a network of dentists and labs, builds referral relationships with other nonprofit collaborators, and engages community leaders and donors to support Smiles. She also finds time to give each recipient her personal attention making sure that they overcome any fears and feel comfortable with their new dental team.

Maureen Perry, DDS, MPA, MAEd (President)

Dr. Maureen Perry is a Professor and Director of the Center for Advanced Oral Health at A.T. Still University, Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health. She is a graduate of NYU College of Dentistry. She completed a 3-year hospital residency focused on treating patients with medically complex conditions, behavioral health issues, developmental disabilities, and geriatric patients. Dr. Perry completed her Masters of public administration at Long Island University and recently completed a Masters in dental education at the University of the Pacific. Dr. Perry is a fellow of the Council of Dentistry for People with Disabilities and is a diplomate of the American Board of Special Care Dentistry. She is a past president of the Special Care Dentistry Association and has served as the U.S. council member for the International Association for Disability & Oral Health.

Mark Johnson (Treasurer)
As Treasurer, Mark brings more than 40 years of diverse financial and operational experience from closely held small and medium size entities to large public companies serving as a CFO, CPA, and Project Consultant. His expertise provides direction and support for the stability and growth of Smiles and Beyond. He is a partner with B2B CFO in Phoenix Arizona.

Brian Hoekstra

Brian brings over 35 years of professional experience in corporate management, strategic planning, intellectual property, and business development. He is the founder of Solavera Development Group (SDG), an investment firm specializing in next generation technologies. He served as an executive for NASA and a Research Physicist at the Air Force Materials Laboratory where he worked on SDI (Star Wars) projects. He has over 100 publications and patents in the areas of microgravity science, laser glass cutting, solar, and semiconductor processing. He attended the U.S. Air Force Academy, Illinois Institute of Technology and the University of Dayton majoring in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Physics, and Electro-optics.

Francis Tesmer, President of Rolfs Salon
Rolfs believes “by sponsoring important causes and events, raising awareness, donating resources, time and talent, they can make a difference in the lives of many”. For Smiles, Francis does all that and more. She makes sure, when all our recipients are flashing their new Smiles, they get a makeover in the salon. The female recipients have their hair and make-up done and the men, a new hair style. She has been a generous sponsor of Smiles and Beyond providing financial support and beauty swag bags for our Gala luncheon guests. Francis is deeply committed to supporting the issue of domestic violence in the Valley and nationally.

Rod Van Bebber, Retired
Rod has invested nearly 40 years in the Supply Chain industry. By creating and enhancing distribution networks, he has enabled companies to increase production performance, enhance customer satisfaction, reduce expenses and increase profitability. His analytical skills to quantify problems and opportunities, and his sales ability to clearly and effectively communicate to key decision makers makes him key in the development of Smiles’ master plan for sustainable growth.
